Sep 19, 2017

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati partnered with Planet Fitness to launch an Anti-Bullying Campaign to establish a culture of acceptance, tolerance, and respect throughout the Clubs and the Greater Cincinnati community.  Planet Fitness generously donated $45,000 towards the production of a series of commercials, aired on Local 12, educating people on the topic of bullying.

“We are so excited and grateful for the opportunity to partner with Planet Fitness to take on an issue as grave as bullying” said Rasheda Malcolm, Vice President of Development, “the issue of bullying should be taken very seriously and can no longer be swept under the rug.

As with any movement, educating people on the issue is the first step and partnering with Planet Fitness has given Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati the platform to do so. Not only did Planet Fitness provide BGCGC the opportunity to get the Anti-Bullying message out there, but the media exposure they allowed the Clubs to have truly made a difference in the lives of kids in the Greater Cincinnati area. They gave BGCGC the opportunity to get their message out there and garner support, which in return allows us them to serve more impoverished youth in the Greater Cincinnati area. Because of partners like Planet Fitness, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati is able to provide:

  • Life-changing programs that help youth advance in three key outcome areas: Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles.
  • Safe and positive place for kids to learn and grow during out-of-school time, including summer.
  • Opportunities to build new skills so that kids can succeed and receive recognition for personal accomplishments.

Planet Fitness presented a check to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati at half time of the Elder High School football game at 2PM on Saturday, September 23rd.
